Venue SIX10 sits in Chicago's South Loop with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to Lake Michigan and the city skyline. It is a venue that hands the couple the room and asks what they want to do with it. Krystle and Sean had a clear answer: dark, moody fall colors — burgundy, deep plum, and rich calla lily tones — balanced against peach and blush, and carried through every element from the invitation suite forward. Little Postage House built the stationery to set that palette before anyone arrived: arched invitation cards with black ribbon and wax seals, scattered mauve and burgundy florals against a dark background, and the K|S monogram printed throughout.
Krystle and Sean knew each other in high school — he was a star athlete and football captain, she was a bookworm who spent her hours in gospel choir rehearsal and spoken word club. They were not sweethearts then. Five years after graduation, they found each other again in Chicago. The ceremony took place with the couple under a floral installation that framed the altar, lush and hanging, built from the same palette that had been running through the day. The aisle ran in blush and pink florals down the center of the room, and when the ceremony ended, it was exactly as planned.
The reception ballroom at Venue SIX10 was built upward — tall gold stands holding lush arrangements of burgundy, peach, and pink florals over dark linen tables set with gold chargers, black sequined napkins, and blue velvet chairs. A greenery installation hung from the ceiling overhead, pulling the full height of the room into the design. At a table near the edge, a live portrait artist from Fine Art by Robert Jacksonand Rendered Moments worked through the evening — a large oil portrait of Krystle and Sean taking shape in real time, the Chicago night skyline painted in deep blue and purple behind them.
After the couple gave their thank-you speech, Krystle — a lifelong dancer — launched a fully choreographed flash mob arranged by Betties and Belles that brought the room to a stop and kicked off the dance floor. No one saw it coming. Windy City Wedding Dance had choreographed the first dance. Spark Entertainment Group, Ryan Alexander, and Yanna Cello carried the evening through dinner and into the reception. In place of wedding favors, the couple donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
