Caroline and Mike’s spring celebration at LM Studio Chicago was the kind of wedding that feels effortless at first glance, then you look closer and realize every detail was intentional. From a bespoke layered tulle gown designed across eight months with Millia London, to fashion sketches gifted as guest favors, this day was a true love letter to style, sentiment, and the people who raised them.
We are thrilled to share that their wedding was featured in Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago, and even more excited to revisit the thoughtful touches that made it so memorable.

A spring celebration at LM Studio Chicago
LM Studio Chicago set the tone for the day with a clean, modern backdrop that let fashion and florals shine. It is the kind of venue that can flex from romantic and whimsical to elevated and editorial, which made it the perfect match for Caroline’s vision.
With LM Catering guiding the culinary experience, the entire evening felt polished, guest-forward, and deeply personal from start to finish.

When fashion leads, the design follows
Fashion took top priority for Caroline, and her dress search proved it. She tried on more than 30 gowns and still could not find the right balance of statement and sophistication, so she went a different route.
After discovering designer Ruth Milliam of Millia London, Caroline collaborated with her across eight months and across an ocean to create a custom layered tulle gown and extra-long veil that truly stole the show. The final look was romantic, dramatic, and completely her.
To complement the fashion-forward theme, the couple leaned into editorial details throughout the day, including stylish accessories, elevated finishing touches, and a look and feel that photographed beautifully in every setting.
The most heartfelt heirloom detail
One of our favorite moments from this wedding has nothing to do with trends, and everything to do with family.
Caroline gifted her mom and sister custom purses made from her mother’s wedding dress. It was a meaningful nod to where she comes from and a way to carry family history into a modern celebration. These are the kinds of heirloom details that make a wedding feel uniquely yours, and they are always worth making room for in the planning process.
Guest favors, but make them personal
Instead of a traditional favor, guests received fashion sketches, a detail that felt on-brand, thoughtful, and genuinely fun to take home. It is a great reminder that favors land best when they connect to your story, your shared interests, or the overall experience you are creating.
One year later, we are still swooning
Caroline and Mike celebrated their one-year anniversary this spring, and we still find ourselves thinking about the energy of this day. It was joyful, stylish, and deeply heartfelt, the kind of wedding that feels like a celebration of love and a celebration of the people who surround it.

Planning takeaway: build one “signature thread”
If you love a wedding that feels cohesive but not overly themed, choose one signature thread and let it guide your decisions. For Caroline and Mike, that thread was fashion. It showed up in the gown, the guest favors, the styling, and the overall editorial feel without needing to shout.
